(Foeniculum vulgare) Fennel is a tall feathery-leaved yellow flowering perennial. It grows up to 5' in height and looks very much like dill. Fennel has an aniseed flavour and both the leaves and seeds are used in cooking. Sow in early spring in final position. Thin out seedlings to 12" apart. Prefers good, moist, well-drained soil in a sunny position.
