(Cymbopogon citratus) Half-hardy perennial native of south-east Asia. Also found in south America and Australia. Lemon grass has long ponted leaves and a swollen leaf base. Used in oriental cuisine. Best flavour is found in lower stems. Sow in spring in a propagator if possible at 20 degrees C. Germination will take up to 1 month. In a cool climate grow in pots.
