Sweet Violet (Wild) Seeds - Viola odorata

Viola odorata is a blue-violet (sometimes white) flowering, aromatic wild flower found in hedgerows and on banks. It is native to Europe (especially Great Britain) and Asia. More recently it has been introduced to other parts of the world with similar climates. It's common names include sweet violet, English violet, wood violet, common violet and garden violet. Its flowers and leaves have been used in cosmetics and perfumes for centuries.

Chill seeds before sowing. Cover lightly with compost. Sow in late autumn, late winter or late spring. Place outside in cold frame until germination takes place.
